ILOILO will host this year’s Batang Pinoy National Finals, a competition for athletes aged 15 years and below, from December 5 to 8.
The first and second placers of the five regional qualifying legs will advance to the national championship featuring competitions in arnis, archery, athletics, badminton, boxing, chess, swimming, table tennis, taekwondo, tennis and karatedo.
The qualifying begins with the National Capital Region leg in Marikina from September 17 to 21 followed by the Northern Luzon leg set October 10 to 13 in Pangasinan.
Oriental Mindoro will host the Southern Luzon leg from October 24 to 27 while the Mindanao is set November 7 to 10 in Cagayan De Oro City.
Cebu City will be the final stop of the qualifiers with the Visayas leg set November 21 to 24.
Several other sports will also be holding their own national finals at the six sites. Marikina hosts gymnastics, bowling and girls volleyball; Pangasinan holds cycling, canoe, shooting, girls softball and boys’ baseball; Oriental Mindoro will be the site of sailing, wrestling and futsal; Cagayan De Oro hosts golf, judo, pencak silat, boys and girls basketball; Cebu City will hold basketball 3-on-3, dancesports, weightlifting; and Iloilo will be the site of triathlon, wushu and football competitions.
