THE UAAP has suspended Friday’s championship matches in three sports due to heavy rains.
The league called off the Game Two of the softball finals between Adamson and National University as well as Game Three of the baseball championship between Ateneo and NU due to unplayable field conditions at the Rizal Memorial Baseball Stadium.
Also postponed were the tennis matches at the nearby Rizal Memorial Tennis Center. Scheduled were the first tie of the men’s tennis final of NU against University of Santo Tomas, and the playoff for the second finals spot of University of the Philippines versus UST.
The softball and baseball games will be played on Tuesday, February 26, 9 a.m. and 12 noon respectively. Make-up date of the tennis matches will be announced later.
The Lady Falcons were gunning for their third straight softball crown while the Blue Eagles and the defending champion Bulldogs are in a do-or-die match for the title.
The NU tennis team owns a twice-to-beat advantage against the Tigers, whose women’s counterparts are up against the Lady Maroons for the right to meet La Salle in the championship.
