GILAS Pilipinas Men were ousted from gold-medal contention by Southeast Asia neighbor Thailand, 20-18, on Wednesday in Sanya, China.
The team of Nic Cabanero, Jeff Manday, Sean Torculas, and Gelo Crisostomo were relegated to the bronze-medal match by a Thailand team that brought in most of the top players from its FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup side.
The Thailand team is composed of Freddie Lish, Chanatip Jakrawan, Panthawat Techasamran, and Nicola Franco.
The bronze medal match is set Wednesday, 6:30 p.m.
The Philippines previously defeated host China, 21-18, and Macau, 21-14, in Pool A, but it ended the group stage with a 21-14 loss to Iran.

Gilas advanced to the semifinals with an 18-14 win over India.
