GILAS Pilipinas 3x3 Men advanced to the semifinals of the 6th Asian Beach Games after an 18-14 win over India on Tuesday in Sanya, China.
Nic Cabanero, Jeff Manday, Gelo Crisostomo, and Aldous Torculas showed composure in a close game, breaking off from a 14-14 deadlock with two free throws by Torculas and Manday to take the win against a pesky India side.
Gilas 3x3 now advances to the medal round where it will face Southeast Asian neighbor Thailand, which beat Mongolia, 21-11
Philippines gained a bye in the first round after topping Pool A with a 2-1 win-loss record, winning the tiebreak against Iran and China after scoring the most points among the three.
