Greg Dolor and Joshua Barrica scored on back-to-back spikes to end the contest, helping the Tamaraws survive a second straight five-setter to even their win-loss record 1-1.

FEU coach Kid Santos said the five-set matches should help them better prepare for the UAAP.
“Nasusubok ang tibay ng loob mas gusto ko pa nga ’yung five sets," said Santos. "Basta kami lalaban lang lagi paghahanda na namin ito sa UAAP. Para masanay na sila sa tapang."
FEU fell behind in the fourth, 14-18, but the Tamaraws scored eight consecutive points to snatch the lead, 22-18, before Barrica sealed the set as he scored on a hit and a service ace.
Sahud Masuhod scored 18 points for RTU, Carlo Sebastian had 16 and Ryan Crisostomo added 10.
