DAVAO City – Clifford Pusing dominated the boys 13-14 category in Alaska Ironkids Philippines on Saturday at Azuela Cove, Davao City.
Pusing clocked 41 minutes and 24 seconds, followed by Adrian Thomas Dionisio and Irienold Reig Jr in a very close finish with a time of 00:41:48 and 00:41:49, respectively.
After clinching the top prize, the young triathlete from Olongapo is eyeing the chance to be part of the national team.
“Inspiration ko po yung maging Philippine team,” he said.
In the girls’ division, Cebu pride Moira Erediano edged Marielle Estreba to secure the top spot in the 13-14 age group.
Erediano clocked 00:43:30, Estreba was a second behind with 00:43:31 and in the third spot was Nicole Del Rosario (00:45:36).
Meanwhile, Earol Belonguil won the 11-12 boys’ division.
Belonguil finished with a time of 00:32:59, edging Matthew Hermosa (00:33:06) and Mark Grist (00:35:26).
In the girl’s division of the same category, Asia Araneta ruled with a time of 00:41:22 followed by Angel Quidasol in 00:41:33 and Mikele Jopson, 00:42:27.
