CEBU City and Pasig City have taken pole position in the Batang Pinoy-Philippine National Games 2023 medal tally on Wednesday.
Cebu City grabbed the lead in the Batang Pinoy, collecting 16 gold, 12 silver, and 15 bronze medals, according to the latest tally of the Philippine Sports Commission.

Pasig City, meantime, has accumulated nine golds, 16 silvers, and 15 bronzes, in the PNG competitions.
For Cebu City, five gold medals came from karatedo through Jherson Rhey Ponce (individual kata beginners 12-13), Clint Nabil Dumaguit (individual kata intermediate male 10-11), Alexis Carmeli Patalinghug (individual kata advance female 14-15), Nino Kime Avila (individual kata advance female 14-15), Edan Kyle Araneta (individual kata intermediate male 14-15), and Kelly Alexandrei Trocio (individual kata beginners 14-15).
Legaspi gets hat-trick of gold medals
Gymnast Jazzmine Legaspi captured three gold medals after ruling the uneven bars, floor exercise, and team event.
Baguio City is in second place with a 15-10-24 gold-silver-bronze tally, while Zamboanga City is in third with 13-6-2. Quezon City (12-10-12) and Davao City (12-10-9) round out the top five in the Batang Pinoy.
Reiniel Francis Lagman claimed the boys 18-over 1500m freestyle, while teaming up with Jaren Tan, Lance Rafael Cruz, and Ryan Emmanuel Suarez in the boys’ 18-over 200m individual medley.
