NATIONAL athletes and sports officials have joined the relief efforts for victims of super typhoon Yolanda as the Ninoy Aquino Stadium has been transformed into one of the ‘repacking hubs’ of the Department of Social Welfare and Development

DSWD volunteers started repacking food and supplies on Thursday at the Philippine Sports Commission-owned venue, one of the many that have been created in Metro Manila to provide relief for the thousands who fell victim to the super typhoon last week.

“The Ninoy Aquino Stadium is being used for center of relief goods, ‘yung repacking ginagawa sa doon,” said PSC chairman Ritchie Garcia.

National Sports Associations and their athletes have also started collecting donations, and the Philippine Olympic Committee said it will ask more athletes to help in the operations of the repacking hub.

Contact persons at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium are Chi Redaja (592-6953), Nene Bayudan (380-8143), and Mariz Maristela (240-5886).
