JAKARTA – Roxanne Yu finished eighth in the final of the women’s 200m backstroke on Sunday night at the GBK Aquatics Stadium.
Yu clocked two minutes, 21.25 seconds, 13.60 seconds behind gold medal winner Liu Yaxin of China (2:07.65). Natsumi Sakai of Japan placed second with a time of 2:08.13, while Xuwei Peng of China finished third with 2:09.14.
The 21-year-old Yu qualified in the final after getting the eighth and final spot in the qualifying. The Criminology student at University of Miami-Florida placed second in the first of the three heats with a time of 2:19.12.
In softball at the GBK Softball field, the Philippine Blu Girls beat Hong Kong, 8-0.
