Riza Pasuit was the latest casualty of the Philippine boxing team to exit the 20th Asian Games in Nagoya, Japan, absorbing a 5-0 shutout at the hands of Natnicha Chongprongklang of Thailand Friday noon at the Nishio Gymnasium.
Four of five judges scored the round-of-32 bout 30-27 in favor of the 22-year-old Thai, the reigning Southeast Asian Games gold medalist in the 54kg class, while the other one had it 30-26.
The loss of Pasuit came less than 24 hours after Norlan Petecio was eliminated in the men’s 70kg class behind a similar 5-0 loss to Sewonrets Quincy Mensah Okazawa of Japan.

The two fighters joined Olympic bronze medalist Aira Villegas on the sidelines after likewise losing her first round bout in the women’s 51 kg class against Sakshi Chaudhary of India, 5-0.
The national team is now down to a three-man team in Olympic medalists Nesthy Petecio and Carlo Paalam, along with Junmilardo Ogayre.
