A FIRST-EVER winter sports gold medal is coming home to the Philippines after the national men’s curling team ruled the Ninth Asian Winter Games in Harbin, China following a 5-3 victory over South Korea on Friday morning.
The historic gold medal-winning team is composed of Alan Frei, Christian Haller, Enrico Pfister, Mark Pfister, and Curling Pilipinas playing president Benjo Delarmente, with support from secretary-general Jarryd Bello, coach Miguel Gutierrez, and Jessica Pfister.

The country emerged as the best-performing Asian team in Harbin with Southeast Asian neighbor Thailand claiming bronze in men’s freestyle skiing.
