THE Philippine Blu Girls got back on track in its medal bid after a dramatic 7-3 come-from-behind win over South Korea on Monday in the 20th Asian Games at the Anjo Softball Ground.
Maria Charlotte Sales slammed a three–run home run during a seven-run sixth inning for the Blu Girls that erased a 3-0 deficit to stun the Koreans.
The first win put the Blu Girls in fourth place in the team standings and back into the medal conversation following two blowout losses to start the Asiad - a 10-0 defeat against Japan and a 10-1 rout versus Chinese Taipei.
Chinese Taipei and China share first place with a 3-0 win-loss record, followed by Japan.
The two top teams battle for the gold at the end of the preliminaries, with the next two duelling for the bronze.
The Nationals still have four matches in their schedule with a clash against Thailand on Tuesday.
The Philippines mounted a comeback after Kim Ahyoung blasted a two-run homer at the top of the fourth where Korea posted a 3-0 lead midway in that inning.
