JEUS Gabriel Derick Yape gave the Philippines its fourth gold in the 20th Asian Games by winning mixed individual virtual taekwondo at the Toyohashi Gymnasium.
Yape beat Ngoc Tuyet Sang, 2-0, to win Philippine taekwondo’s very first gold medal in the Asiad since its inception in 1986.
Virtual taekwondo is making its debut in the continental meet this year.

Yape is now a two-time Asian Games medalist, also having gotten bronze on Thursday in men’s individual poomsae.
