GILAS Pilipinas Men's 3x3 was denied the bronze medal by Iran on Friday in the 20th Asian Games in Nagoya, Japan.
The Filipinos lost in the battle for the bronze, 21-10, at the Funko Station Avenue.
It was a bittersweet finish for Nic Cabanero and Co. along with coach Patrick Fran, who lost to South Korea in the semifinals, 21-9.
Manuel Pablo and Koji Buenaflor led the Filipinos with three points each, Nic Cabanero with two and David Dungo with one.
But the semifinal stint already surpassed the quarterfinal finish of the Philippine 3x3 team during the maiden staging of the half-court game in the Hangzhou Asiad in 2022.
