GILAS Pilipinas is in danger of missing the quarterfinals of the 20th Asian Games men’s basketball tournament.
The Philippines trailed China by 36 points, 66-30, at the half in their final game of the group stage at the Aichi International Arena.

Gilas needs a win over China or lose by 37 points or less in order to advance to the quarterfinal round in a tournament where the Philippines is the defending champion.
Wang Junjie set the tone for China with 14 points and seven rebounds in the first half with his team seeking a sweep of the group stage.
Gilas was not as proficient in the three-point shot as in lone win so far against Kazakhstan, going just 1-of-8 from distance against China.
Gilas Pilipinas was also badly outrebounded in the first half, 32-12, as China, with an average height of 6-foot-7, made full use of its size advantage.
Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser scored a team-high five points for Gilas, but Robert Bolick only had two points, and Jerrick Ahanmisi was still scoreless after the first half.
Bolick and Ahanmisi combined for 11 threes against Kazakhstan.
