GILAS Pilipinas 3x3 Women outplayed Southeast Asian rival Thailand, 13-8, to barge into gold medal play of the 20th Asian Games in Nagoya, Japan.
The Filipina cagebelles will play host Japan in the finals.
The Japanese beat South Korea, 19-8, in the other semifinals pairing.
Not as fortunate was the men's team which suffered a 21-9 loss to South Korea in its own semis bout.
The Filipinos are now relegated in the battle for the bronze against Iran, which was downed by Qatar, 11-14, in the other bracket.
