GILAS Pilipinas 3x3 Men completed a sweep of pool play to clinch a quarterfinals berth in the 20th Asian Games in Nagoya, Japan.
The Filipinos thwarted Kazakhstan, 21-15, Wednesday afternoon at the Kinjo Futo Station Square Avenue to finish on top of Pool A with a perfect 3-0 record.
The Philippines became the first team to reach the knockout stage set on Thursday.
Nic Cabanero led the charge with seven points, while Doy Dungo had six, including the game-clinching free throw with 33 seconds left.
Mongolia clobbered Sri Lanka, 21-11, to finish second behind the Filipinos at 2-1, while Kazakhstan took third at 1-2.
Both Mongolia and Kazakhstan have been relegated to the play-in to determine the Bottom 4 of the quarterfinals.
The Top 4 teams from each group advance outright to the next round.
Gilas 3x3 will be up against the play-in winner between the No. 2 team in Pool C and No. 3 team in Pool B.

Kazakshtan (15) - Tangiyev 6, Seilkhanov 4, Junussov 3, Ydyryszhan 2.
