ALEX Enriquez won the lone silver of the Philippines in Day 14, virtually the final day of competitions in the 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan.
The 27-year-old Enriquez captured the Philippines’ ninth silver in this Games in women’s jiu-jitsu 63kg division, losing in the final to Orapa Senatham of Thailand via advantages after a 0-0 deadlock at the end of the bout, nearly winning the country’s fifth gold in Asiad.
Instead, the Philippines stays at four gold medals to match the output in the 19th edition in Hangzhou heading into Sunday where only equestrienne Colin Sequia will see action in the individual jumping event before the Asiad formally comes to a close later in the night.

The Philippines also has 16 bronzes for a total of 29 medals to place 17th in the standings, the same ranking in Hangzhou but the country performed much better in this outing as it only finished with 18 medals (4-2-12 gold-silver-bronze) three years ago.
Not surprisingly, China is the runaway winner with 169 gold medals, 89 silvers, and 83 bronzes.
Japan is in second with 83-95-91, Republic of Korea in third with 39-43-68, India in fourth with 21-27-37, and Uzbekistan with 21-25-24.
Iran (19-18-15), Thailand (18-13-21), Kazakhstan (12-24-48), Hong Kong (11-19-24), and Bahrain (11-5-6) round out the top 10.
