ELIZABETH Means impressed in her Gilas Pilipinas Women 5-on-5 debut, scoring a team-high 23 points in their 86-58 win over Kazakhstan in the 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan.
The Gilas Women naturalized player shot 9-of-17 from the field, hitting three three-pointers at the head of Gilas Women's auspicious start to the tournament.
Means, who acquired her Philippine passport last July 1, added four rebounds and eight steals in the blowout win.
Means helped Gilas Women get off to a hot start that saw them end the first quarter with a 25-9 lead.
Stephanie Berberabe added 11 points, four rebounds, and eight assists for Gilas Women, who will next face Hong Kong on Sunday.
