JAKARTA – Divine Wally beat Petriwi Selviah of Indonesia on Tuesday night to clinch at least a bronze medal in the 18th Asian Games wushu competitions at the Jakarta International Expo.

Wally dominated her opponent from the host country, 7-2, in their women’s -52kg sanda quarterfinal match, assuring the Filipina of another medal in wushu after Agatha Wong captured the bronze in the women’s taolu.

The 2015 world champion will now face Iran’s Mansoryan Samiroumi Elaheh in the semifinals scheduled on Wednesdaynight at the Jakarta International Expo.

The 23-year-old Wally has already eclipsed her fifth-place finish in the Incheon Asian Games four years ago.
