JAKARTA – The Philippines is one victory away from a bronze medal after edging host Indonesia, 4-0, on Wednesday in the 18th Asian Games softball tournament at the GBK Softball field.
Mary Ann Antolihao yielded only four hits, while Royevel Palma pitched three no-hit innings of relief as the Blu Girls improved their record to 4-1, tying China for second place. Japan is in first place with a 5-0 record.
Skylynne Ellazar drove in two runs at the bottom of the first inning to start off the Blu Girls’ offense.
The Philippines can claim second place with a win over Chinese Taipei on Wednesday night at the GBK Softball field.
