PHILIPPINE Army added to Pasargad’s anxiety after scoring a 2-1 victory behind its Koreans in the United Football League on Thursday night at the Emperador Stadium.
The Troopers established an early two-goal cushion courtesy of Jeon Shin Seok and Song Woo before staving off the cellar dwellers from thereon to pull off the victory that allowed them to move up the standings.
The military squad, now back in sixth after dislodging Pachanga on goal difference, dealt Pasargad its seventh straight loss that kept the Iranian-loaded squad in relegation zone with only four points to show after 14 matches.
“We’re panicking now,” Pasargad coach Ayi Ni Aryee admitted.
Jeon broke through the Pasargad defense 29 minutes into the game when he struck off a feed from John Cain, before Song doubled the lead with a header nine minutes later.
Hamed Fateh pulled a goal back for Pasargad four minutes before injury time when he converted a penalty attempt awarded after Eduardo Gempisaw picked up a yellow card.
