KAYLA Sanchez finished fourth in the women’s 50-meter freestyle of the 20th Asian Games swimming competitions at the Tokyo Aquatics Center.
Sanchez clocked 24.75 seconds in the final, falling short of the bronze by 0.29 seconds over Yujie Cheng of China.

It was another close finish with Sanchez also missing out on a bronze by a mere 0.19 seconds in the women’s 100m freestyle on Tuesday.
Wu Qingfeng of China recorded a new Games record in her win in the 50m freestyle with a time of 23.95 followed by Siobhan Haughey of Hong Kong with a clocking of 24.32.
Sanchez couldn't end the Philippines' 28-year medal drought in Asiad swimming after missing a podium finish.
