ANNIE Ramirez’ quest for a second straight gold medal in the Asian Games came to a stunning end, losing to Nuchanat Singchalad of Thailand in their round-of-16 bout in jiu-jitsu women’s -52kg division.
Singchalad won the bout on advantages after a 0-0 deadlock, beating one of the highly-favored fighters in the field in Ramirez, a world champion in the -57kg division.

Ramirez was unable to repeat her gold in Hangzhou, China, which came from the heavier -57kg division.
