Coach Adam Reekie parts ways with UFL side Kaya FC after only six months in charge

    Mar 31, 2015

KAYA FC’s bid in the United Football League has hit a snag as coach Adam Reekie vacated the post just six months into the job.

The UFL title contender announced the sudden development on its website on Tuesday.

Reekie has had immediate success with the club since replacing David Perkovic last September, leading the squad to a quarterfinal berth in the UFL Football Alliance League Cup last year.

The English mentor has now steered the Azkals-loaded side currently atop the standings in the league with six wins in seven outings.

“Despite the timing of our parting with Adam, we are committed to giving our best this season, and we will move forward together,” the club said in a statement. “Our goals and objectives remain the same, and we are determined to achieve them.”

“We would like to thank Adam for the hard work, professionalism, and utmost dedication that he has shown during his time, albeit brief, as head coach and director of coaching at the academy,” the statement added. “Everyone connected with the club respects his decision and wishes him all the best in his future endeavors.”

The reason behind his departure was not mentioned.

Team owner Santi Araneta could not be reached as of posting time.
