    Dec 3, 2012

ACTION in UAAP Season 75 second semester shifts into high gear this week with the opening of the athletics and softball tournaments.

Far Eastern University seeks to continue its domination in the men’s and women’s divisions as the four-day track and field competitions reel off on Wednesday at the Philsports Complex in Pasig.

The Lady Tamaraws are aiming for a ninth consecutive athletics title, while the men’s team is eyeing its third straight.

Adamson, bannered by reigning Athlete of the Year Rizza Bernardino, begins its bid for a third straight softball championship as it takes on La Salle on Wednesday at the Rizal Memorial Baseball Stadium in Manila.

With the core of the Manila team that won its first Big League Softball World Series title in Kalamazoo, Michigan last August, the Lady Falcons remain as hot favorites to bag their 12th championship.

Gametime is at 11 a.m. after the opening match between National University and University of the Philippines. Ateneo and University of Santo Tomas collide at 3 p.m.

Fencing is scheduled to open next week, while hostilities in baseball, chess and lawn tennis start next month.

Over the weekend, the league opened its second semester with volleyball and football.
