PHILIPPINE Air Force dismissed Cafe Lupe, while the Mega Builders remained undefeated after beating Institito Estetico Manila in the men's division of the Premier Volleyball League on Saturday at The Arena in San Juan.
After losing a tight first set, the Jet Spikers surged in the following sets to soar past the Sunrisers, 24-26, 25-18, 25-15, 25-20, improving with a 3-1 win-loss card.
Edwin Tolentino led Air Force with 17 points from 14 attacks and three blocks, and the Jet Spikers pounced on 38 unforced errors from the Sunrisers to secure the victory.
Meanwhile, the Mega Builders walloped IEM in straight sets, 25-14, 25-20, 25-19, to climb on top of the standings in the conference with a 4-0 win-loss record.
Going to top four kasi ito, at least may chance na kami sa top four, 'wag lang mag-tie-tie kasi as of now 4-0 kami," Mega Builders coach Ariel Dong Dela Cruz said.
Team captain Francis Saura led the Mega Builders with 14 points, while Bryan Bagunas and Fauzi Ismail chipped in 13 and 12 markers, respectively.
The Air Force will face IEM while the Mega Builders will take on Cignal on July 19 at the same venue.
