THE NATIONAL University success is a farewell gift for head coach Ghicka Bernabe.

Right after her team reclaimed the UAAP Cheerdance Competition title on Saturday, the NU Pep Squad mentor announced her retirement from the post.

Ghicka Bernabe retires

Bernabe steered the Bulldogs to seven UAAP CDC championships.

Having to focus on her future marriage is the main reason for Bernabe's retirement.

"I did my part as a coach, hindi ako naghangad dito ng championship, pero ngayon umaapaw sa championship, maski ako hindi ko inakala na makakapagbigay ako ng championship sa school na dating naiiwan at hindi napapansin," she said.
