DARWIN, Australia – The Philippines collected gold medals in the 2019 Arafura Games as three track and field athletics topped their respective events at the Mararra Track Oval on Saturday.
Abigail Manzano became the first gold medalist for the Philippines in the meet, ruling the women’s 3,000-meter steeplechase. Kate Diaz earlier bagged a silver in weightlifting.
Bruce Pernia topped the javelin throw, while Nicko Caparoso made it a sweep in the 3,000-meter steeplechase when he ruled the men’s event.
