La Salle stamps class in table tennis, volleyball events of PNG national finals

OLYMPIAN Emy Rose Dael collected two gold medals for De La Salle in the 2015 Philippine National Games (PNG) table tennis national finals at the Harrison Plaza Garden Square.

Dael, who competed in the 2013 Youth Olympic Games, swept the women’s events by winning the singles and then adding the doubles by teaming up with Donna Gamilla.

She also settled for a silver medal in the mixed doubles event after she and partner Jerald Cristobal bowed to Far Eastern University’s Gino Selma and Shamiela Pineda in the finals.

Japeth Adasa of PLDT won the men’s singles event, even as Francis Bendebel and Vlademir Rarama captured the men’s doubles.

Roy Santos of Malabon tabbed the gold in the liha singles open, a competition where a racket without rubber is used.

In billiards at Gameball inside the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex, Paquito Suarez beat Arnel Bautista, 11-7, to win the gold in the Luzon qualifiers of the men’s 9-ball event.

De La Salle and College of Saint Benilde meet in an all-La Salle showdown for the women’s volleyball national finals gold as both schools hurdled their respective semis opponents on Wednesday.

The Lady Spikers turned back University of the Philippines, 25-20, 25-16, 25-19, while the Lady Blazers downed Jose Rizal University, 25-16, 25-20, 25-20.

The finals is set Thursday, 7 a.m. at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
