Philippines bags bronze in mixed cable wakeskate event in Asian Beach Games

THE Philippines finished third in the mixed cable team event in wakeskate for a bronze medal in the 4th Asian Beach Games in Phuket, Thailand.

The team of Susan Madelene Larsson, Jose Vicente Sembrano, Christian Michel Joson, Samantha Bermudez, Angelo Louise Linao, Paul Anthony Cantos, and Andrea Michelle Tanjangco combined for 3,802 points on Tuesday to win the bronze medal, the country’s fourth in the biennial competition.

Thailand (5,341 points) won the gold with Korea (5,079) taking the silver.

It was the second medal for Larsson and Sembrano, who also won medals in the individual events. Larsson got a silver medal in the women’s cable while Sembrano took a bronze in the men’s division of the same event in wakeskate.

The Philippines has a total of two golds, one silver, and four bronzes in the Asian Beach Games. Winning the gold medals were Maybelline Masuda and Annie Ramirez in ju-jitsu while the other bronzes came from Robeno Javier in duathlon and John Baylon in ju-jitsu.
