DANES Sarmiento logged a 10.133-second quarter-mile in a H3-Rurex Honda Integra to top the Quick 8 division in Round 3 of the 2014 National Drag Racing Championship Northern Series recently at the Clark International Speedway.
Jonathan Tiu's JCT-Blanche Nissan GT-R was out of commission but nevertheless came up with a fine performance in a Honda Civic, clocking 10.662 to take runner-up honors ahead of Allan Ararao in a Vannitec W-Autosports Mitsubishi Evolution.
In the Expert Class, a red light violation by Sydney Sarmiento handed the win to Jannery Mateo Millet. A strong 13.392-second run from Temz Automart's Arvin Millet earned him third place.
Sam Pilarta bested the other 35 entries in the Sportsman Class with a mere 15.025 second run, which was all he needed to beat Jannery Mateo Millet, who ran the red light. Lennel Diaz in a Mohspeed Honda was third.
Paul Michael Galban won the Hotstreet Class over Jefferson DC Cruz and Marvin Gadia in the event sanctioned by the Automobile Association of the Philippines , presented by Petronas and sponsored by M&H Tires.
The 2014 NDRC moves to the Batangas Racing Circuit on May 24 for Round 4 of the Southern Series.
