GIO Rodriguez of Team Atoy Customs topped the fourth round of the Hyundai Lateral Drift Championship Series recently at Aseana City on Diosdado Macapagal Boulevard.
Drivers boldly drove on the eight-lane stretch of 400 meters of new venue Aseana City and top performers recorded entry speeds reaching 120 kilometers per hour, normally only achieved at Clark International Speedway.
Rodriguez recorded his third win of the series to solidify his place on top of the overall standings.
2011 champion Audel Sison was second and Ralph Tan settled for third.
Rodriguez and Tan, partners during a stint in a television talent contest, battled it out for a place in the final.
In the amateur class, Mark Bernardo of Team ConceptOne took first place followed by Team Turbo Cafe’s Kar Montaner, back in action after missing all three previous legs, while Dan Javier bagged third place.
Round five is set November 16 also at the Aseana City. Admission is free.
