IN AN INSTAGRAM video by Scuderia Ferrari, Spanish F1 racer, Carlos Sainz Jr. unwrapped a couple of goodies from his fans, together with his teammate Charles Leclerc, and one of them came from the Philippines where Sainz received a travel guide to the country.
He read the message from the fan saying: 'Tara baraha!' (Let's play cards), which seem to hint that the fan wanted to play some Poker or other card games with the F1 driver.
However it seems there's an underlying easter egg as the term 'Tara Baraha!' is also a Filipino social enterprise that encourages the community to donate to their cause. The proceeds will be used to rebuild homes devastated during a typhoon.
Upon receiving the package, Sainz and Leclerc started dropping hints on a potential visit to the Pearl of the Orient.
“I am going to visit the Philippines,” he said in the video. “I have a lot of friends there."
After the video was published by the F1 org, 'Tara Baraha!' shared the video on their Instagram account.
The social enterprise said: "KILIG. It's sooo surreal how our Tara Baraha! deck got into the hands of Team @scuderiaferrari. Much love & maraming salamat from the Philippines!! We can't wait for you to visit our country!"
Sainz (signs) that something big is bound to happen?
Given the interaction, perhaps something big is brewing along the way. The Formula 1 scene is gaining attraction in the country given its growing fanbase, the numerous watch parties, and the aspirations of Filipina F1 academy graduate, Bianca Bustamante.
And given Tara Baraha's package, perhaps this could be a sign that Sainz might head to the Philippines for a deeper purpose.
Tara Baraha's products would showcase the beauty of the Philippines in a card game setting as the most notable landmarks were featured as the cards' aesthetic.
Then when looking at the package, the organization highlighted that deeper translation of the word, 'Tara!'
Tara means 'Let's go!' followed by a definition saying, 'A word often used by Filipinos to invite a friend to do something fun!'
"This is an invitation for travelers to discover the beauty of the Philippines." said the package.
Is this a Sain that the F1 driver might collaborate with the social enterprise and get involved in an outreach program in the Philippines? Will there be other notable activities that will further boost the F1 scene in the country? Let's just wait for the finish line.
