THE Zamboanga siblings were impressive in pulling off stellar victories at ONE: A New Breed at Impact Arena in Bangkok on Friday.

Denice Zamboanga hardly broke a sweat in her first-round submission win over Watsapinya Kaewkhong while Drex was equally lethal, tapping out Detchadin Sornsirisupathin in the second round with a rear-naked choke.

It only took the top women's atomweight contender 93 seconds to connect with her precision punches, killer knees, and the finishing Americana as she hiked her record to a perfect 8-0 win-loss.

"I’m very grateful that I won this fight. I just came in prepared and I had to be ready for that," she said.

Zamboanga's win inched her closer to a potential title shot against reigning ONE Women's Atomweight World Champion Angela Lee while also keeping her position as the No. 1 contender in the promotion's rankings.

Drex Zamboanga, the former URCC Bantamweight champion, made Sornsirisupathin sleep at the 4:58 mark of the second round.

Zamboanga improved his record to 9-5 as he made a triumphant debut in ONE Championship, while Sornsirisupathin fell to 8-6.

The twin victories were very special for the Zamboangas, who have continuously trained in Thailand since the spread of COVID-19.

And Denice is just overjoyed that all their hard work paid off.

"I fought in the same card with my brother, and that’s why I'm so happy," she said.

KC Carlos, though, wasn't as fortunate as she suffered a second-round technical knockout loss to Wondergirl Fairtex in their ONE Super Series muay thai bout.

The Fil-Am fighter was tagged with a solid right straight from Wondergirl before the Thai broke her nose with a pair of elbows that forced the referee to stop the match at the 1:09 mark of round two.
