JENEL Lausa is set to become the latest Filipino to battle inside the octagon as the UFC tabbed the regional flyweight champion to face off against The Ultimate Fighter: China alum Yao Zhikui in the Fight Night Manila: Lamas vs Penn undercard on October 15 at the Mall of Asia Arena.

In signing with the UFC, Lausa fulfilled a life-long dream and became the first home-grown titleholder to fight for the world’s premier MMA organization. The former boxing champ and jiu-jitsu practitioner from Iloilo rides a four-fight win streak into his UFC debut where he’ll look to duplicate his success in front of thousands of passionate Filipino fans.

However, his opponent Zhikui has already tasted success in Philippine soil after earning his first UFC victory, a split decision win over Nolan Ticman, during the company’s first card in the country last year. But Zhikui suffered an arm injury in his last fight against Fredy Serrano last November so he’s raring to repeat his win in Manila.
