JON Tuck looks to captivate Filipino fight fans again as he faces off in a lightweight battle against Medhi Baghdad in the undercard of UFC Fight Night Manila: Lamas vs Penn on October 15 at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Tuck, who holds a 9-3 MMA record (3-3 in the UFC), is no stranger to the Philippines after winning the Performance of the Night bonus in the company’s first fight card in Manila last year with a rear-naked choke submission over Tae Hyun Bang. But he’s coming off a split decision loss to Josh Emmett last May and is looking to get back on track in his return to the country.
Baghdad, though, will not be lacking in motivation as he targets his first UFC victory in the Manila card. The former Muay Thai champion was once under the tutelage of featherweight king Conor McGregor in The Ultimate Fighter, but has lost his first two fights since coming out of the show.
MMA legend BJ Penn battles Ricardo Lamas in a featherweight bout to headline the Manila card. The co-main event is a heavyweight battle between Derrick Lewis and Marcin Tybura.
Flyweight title contenders Kyoji Horiguchi and Ali Bagautinov are also set to clash, along with the UFC’s first women’s bout in the Philippines between Seo Hee Ham and Danielle Taylor. Featherweights Mizuto Hirota and Cole Miller will also trade blows at the Mall of Asia Arena.
