ADD Rey 'The Punisher' Docyogen and Geje 'Gravity' Eustaquio to the list of Filipino mixed martial artists who will see action when the ONE Fighting Championship returns to the country on May 31 at the Mall of Asia Arena.
The 30-year-old Docyogen tries to bounce back from the first loss of his career as he takes on Yasuhiro Urushitani in a flyweight bout, while Eustaquio marks his return against ONE FC rookie Andrew Leone.
The two Filipinos will join compatriots Honorio Banario, Eduard Folayang, and Kevin Belingon in the 'Rise to Power card, the second presentation of ONE FC in the country.
Docyogen, who tapped out against Japanese Shinichi Kojima via second submission last February in Malaysia in a loss that snapped his 10-fight winning streak, battles another veteran Japanese fighter in the 36-year-old Urushitani, a stand-up specialist who has been fighting for over a decade with 31 fights under his belt.
Eustaquio, who carries a 4-1 win-loss card, looks to see if his Team Lakay training with Banario, the reigning featherweight champion, will pay off in his bantamweight bout with the American Leone.
“Fans have been waiting for the return of Geje Eustaquio and the debut of Andrew Leone. Adding a fight between Rey Docyogen and Yasuhiro Urushitani is icing on the cake,” ONE FC CEO Victor Cui said. “I know that the millions of ONE FC fans around the world can’t wait to watch these modern day gladiators collide on 31 May.”
Tickets for the event, put up in association with the Universal Reality Combat Championship, can be purchased exclusively at Casino Filipino outlets nationwide. Refer to www.onefc.com/tickets for details.
