JHANLO Mark Sangiao is itching to get back into the ONE Championship circle, and to do just that, is hoping for another crack at the fighter who dealt him the first loss of his career.

Speaking on Team Lakay’s Table Talks on YouTube, the second-generation martial artist bared that he wants nothing more than to avenge his loss to Enkh-Orgil Baatarkhuu.

“Honestly, I wasn’t fully prepared for that fight,” Sangiao said.

“Physically, I feel like I was 100 percent ready, but mentally, there were just too many distractions. Unfortunately, things didn’t end up well for me, but you know, it’s not the end.”

Sangiao's should've, would've, could've

The 21-year-old had beaten himself up right after that fight, thinking he gave up too quickly after the Mongolian locked on a kimura.

Sangiao felt even worse because he almost got Baatarkhuu in the first round after connecting on a few solid punches that buckled his opponent. He wasn’t able to capitalize, however, and the 34-year-old stormed back in the second round to get the sensational finish.

“After that fight, I really internalized and looked back on the mistakes I had during the fight. I felt like I gave up too easily. That kimura wasn’t fully extended, but I don’t know what was going through my head,” he said.

“In the first round I really had him. I think I was the first person to hurt him. “

The prodigious talent from Team Lakay chalked up his loss to being in unfamiliar territory. After all, his first six fights went without a hitch, as he dominated his opponents from the opening bell to the eventual finish.

“My head was in the game, but honestly, in my mind I was thinking, ‘Why am I in this position? How did I end up here?’ Mostly, I’m always on top and in control, and all of a sudden I was on the bottom and being controlled,” he said.

“I think it was a mix of fatigue and his pressure, but it is what it is.”

Make no mistake, though, Sangiao believes he lost fair and square, and he’s not taking any shine away from Baatarkhuu. Still, he's about to hunt down the Mongolian and try even the score.
