IT wasn’t the usual result for Shinya Aoki, but he did enough to retain his lightweight title with a unanimous decision over Koji Ando in One: Warrior’s Quest recently at Singapore Indoor Stadium.
Aoki had several chances for an early stoppage with some takedowns but Ando managed to hang on and stretch the match to five rounds, the former settling for a points win.
The victory extend Aoki’s win streak to eight, but it was the first time he had to fight it out until the final bell since 2011 when he outpointed Satoru Kitaoka in Dream. After that, he lost via technical knockout to Eddie Alvarez in Bellator.
Dejdamrong Sor Amnuaysirichok won the One Strawweight World Championship with a technical decision win over Filipino puncher Roy Doliguez.

Shannon Wiratchai of Thailand won a split decision over Amir Khan of Singapore in their three-round featherweight match.
Angela Lee of the US made a successful One Championship debut, submitting Aya Saeid Saber of Egypt with an armbar at the one minute and 43 second mark of the first round.
A La Teng Hei Li won a technical knockout over Singapore’s Stephen Langdown, using punches and soccer kicks to get the referee stoppage in the second round.
