Filipino-American Muay Thai rising star Sean Climaco has already experienced what it’s like winning in ONE Championship – now he doesn’t want the feeling to subside.
Climaco targets his second straight victory in the promotion when he battles Johan “Panda Kick” Estupinan in a three-round flyweight Muay Thai bout at ONE 168: Denver inside Ball Arena on September 7.
With Climaco being added to the Denver card, the Philippines now has a representative in the promotion’s return to the U.S. – a country brimming with Filipinos.
After winning the Road to ONE: America tournament, Climaco made a good account of himself in his promotional debut when he knocked out Josue Cruz in the first round at ONE Fight Night 22 in May.
But he won’t have it easy against Estupinan, who’s eyeing his third straight victory in the promotion.
After knocking out Kouta Omori in his debut, Estupinan followed up with a decisive win over Zafer Sayik in June.
This crucial bout could determine who gets to move up the loaded division filled with contenders like ONE Flyweight Kickboxing World Champion Superlek Kiatmoo9, Denis Puric, and Dedduanglek TDed99.
With the addition of this bout, the card just got a whole lot bigger for Muay Thai fans, especially with two big fights lined up.
Two-sport ONE World Champion Jonathan Haggerty defends his bantamweight Muay Thai belt against Superlek in a highly-anticipated champion-versus-champions showdown.
Another fight on the card that striking fans are keeping their eyes on is the battle between Liam Harrison and Seksan Or Kuanmuang, who meet in a 140-pound catchweight bout.
