UFC star Ronda Rousey stuns on the cover of the 2016 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition, which the magazine unveiled on Saturday (Sunday, Manila time) in a TV special aired on TNT. What’s even more stunning, apart from Rousey smoldering in body painted swimsuit, is the message the mag shares with its interesting cover picks.
That’s right, the SI Swimsuit special has more than one cover this year as Rousey shares the spotlight with models Hailey Clauson and the voluptuous Ashley Graham.
Assistant managing editor MJ Day shed some light on this game-changing decision, saying that the bombshell Clauson, the fiery Rousey, and the captivating Graham capture their definition of what beauty is today: healthy, curvy, vivacious, and bold.
“We don’t have just one cover, because beauty doesn’t take just one form,” Day wrote on SI.com.
Meanwhile, Rousey expressed her gratitude on her Instagram account. “Such an honor to share the cover with @theashleygraham and @haileyclauson for @si_swimsuit’s issue celebrating women of all body types,” she wrote on her post.
The former UFC women has always been confident with her body as this is her second appearance in Sports Illustrated’s swimsuit special and she’s already done the cover of ESPN the Magazine’s Body Issue in 2012. After her first career defeat to Holly Holm in UFC 193 last November when she took time from the public eye, Rousey now appears to be ready for the spotlight again.
The 2016 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition will be available Monday (Tuesday, Manila time).
