FREDDIE Roach denied rumors he will be training UFC star Ronda Rousey in her next fights.
In an interview by Boxingscene.com, Roach said there have been no official talks about the possibility that he will join Rousey’s camp anytime soon.
“A lot of rumors out there. People keep asking if I’m gonna train Ronda Rousey and so forth, but they are just rumors. There has been no official request,” said Roach.
Roach said Rousey has to improve her boxing after Holly Holm exposed her weakness in November.
The rumors about Roach taking on the job as Rousey trainer surfaced right after that fight.
"I like Ronda Rousey. She is a nice girl and I wish the best for her. But I think that was a bad choice. She needs more experience in the boxing world. It was probably a mistake just to try that. She should have just tried to go to the ground,” Roach said.
Floyd Mayweather, who had engaged Rousey in a war of words, earlier said he was putting their dispute aside and would help make Rousey become a better boxer.
