ROLANDO Dy feels a title shot is overdue, but says he is ready for anyone Brave Combat Federation wants him to face.
“If Brave CF thinks I have to prove it again, then so be it," he said. "I am a fighter, and my job is to fight and win fights."
Dy, 29, has certainly put himself in the conversation for future challengers for Brave CF Lightweight World Champion Amin Ayoub after a stellar 2020, one where he was named as the promotion's Fighter of the Year.
The son of legendary boxer Rolando Navarette is battling for the top spot in a division loaded with talent, one of them Ahmed Amir (11-3-1), who won his fights against Yousef Wehbe and Cian Cowley.
The Egyptian fighter, who has been with Brave CF since 2016, has publically challenged Ayoub for the throne.
Another is Kyrgyzstan bet Abdisalam Kubanychbek (16-2), who extended his win streak to ninw fights with a second-round submission win over Jahongir Saidjamolov in Brave CF 46 in January.
Kubanychbek has listed Dy as one of his potential targets as he eyes his path to the crown.
English fighter Sam Patterson (6-1-1) is also on a tear, winning his last five matches, the latest being a first round knockout victory over UFC veteran Felipe Silva in September.
Dy, however, is undeterred as he reiterated his desire to take on all comers and prove that he's the best in his division.
"Like I said in the past, line them up and I will keep knocking them down. It’s that simple," he said, beaming with enthusiasm to get back on the groove and return to the cage.
"I’m excited for 2021. I know this year has a lot in store for me and my team. I can’t wait to get back inside the cage."
