RISING amateur Filipino mixed martial arts fighters share center stage as Pacific X-treme Combat (PXC) holds ‘Laban MMA Manila’ Friday featuring the main event between flyweights Reymond Doliguez and Rey Seneres.
Serving as co-main event of the fight card to be held at the Metrotent, Metrowalk Complex in Ortigas is the bout between Jimboy Panlita versus Jonjer Torbiso.
Presented by Sports5, the event will have top amateur fighters seeing action in the hope of becoming the next Filipino mixed martial arts superstars who could make a name for themselves in the PXC, the top MMA company in the Asia-Pacific.
Doliguez, a certified fan favorite who owns a 5-3 record and fighting out of Submission Sports Philippines, said he’s ready to take on the challenge as he sees himself pulling off a victory against his opponent from Team Mumma.
“Sigurado ako mananalo kami (Submission Sports Philippines) kasi talagang naghanda kami para sa laban na ito,” he said during the press conference for the fight on Thursday held at the Moonshine Pub xPublic Urban Bar at the Sapphire Bloc in Ortigas.
For his part, Seneres (3-1) said he’s out to give Doliguez a good fight.
Panlita is also from Submission Sports Philippines and owns a 9-1 record, while Torbiso (6-2) hails from Lapu-Lapu City.
The weigh-in for the fight was held prior to the press presentation, attended by no less than Sports5 head Patricia Bermudez-Hizon.
Serving as curtain raiser is the women’s match between Krishna Limbaga of Team Camp Vallega against debuting Krystelle Sabadlab of Mumma/Fight Factory.
Other matches featured are Danny Dilag against Joemy Miado, Wallen del Rosario opposite Mark Fabrigra, Eddie Amora versus Team Biagtan.
Completing the card are Michael Mondragon taking on Rainier Brion, Jayson Margallo clashing with Crisz Aplicador, Dhon Dhon Gonzales battling Adonis Sevellino and Rommel Lugo challenging Renier Gervacio.
