Lito “Thunder Kid” Adiwang was almost set for a fight before the end of the year, but plans changed at the last minute.
Still, he assured fans that there’s something cooking for him, and he’s doing his very best to improve while he waits for his ONE Championship return following his raucous comeback from an ACL tear, where he won his last three fights.
“I was actually preparing for another fight, but circumstances scrapped that altogether. But we have something coming up, so you guys better tune in soon,” Adiwang said.
“Rest assured, while the wait is getting longer, I’m getting better and better. I’m improving.”
After missing 18 months of action due to an ACL tear, Adiwang went on a busy three-fight stretch from September 2023 to February 2024, winning all those matches in impressive fashion and proving that he’s gotten much better.
During the time he was out, Adiwang made some major changes. He left Team Lakay to train abroad with SOMA Fight Club while adjusting his routine and mindset.
That long wait turned out to be for the best, not only because Adiwang got so much better as a fighter, but it fueled him to come in hungry for his return.
That’s the same promise he’s making to fans as he eyes his fourth straight victory in ONE Championship, and hopefully, a return to ONE World Title contention.
“When I come back, I’ll have the confidence that I worked hard for my comeback [with] both mentally and physically,” he said.
“If you look at my comeback fight, I finished it in under 23 seconds, but what I went through to get there, it really took some time,” he added.
“I’m preparing, I’m improving. I know I need to improve a lot of things, but I’m working on that. Just continue your support. I’ll be back again. I’ll be back soon.”
