IT has been more than half a year, but Rolando Dy admits still feeling the sting of the loss to Kyle Aguon in Guam.
Now the Filipino fighter looks to get back in the PXC 48 on Saturday at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.
“Part of me hindi pa maka-move on sa PXC 45,” said Dy on Wednesday, recalling the heartbreaking split decision in the battle for the vacant bantamweight title.
“Alam ko deep inside ako ang nanalo nagkataon lang sa hometown nila ginawa,” he added.
Both fighters haven’t seen action since that October showdown.
“Sinasabi ko sa sarili ko na, isipin mo bagong laban na naman ito,” said Dy. “’Wag mong i-underestimate.”
“Alam ko na mananalo na ako,” he declared.
Former PXC bantamweight champion Crisanto Pitpitunge will face Fil-American Alvin Cacdac for the PXC flyweight title.
Pitpitunge, a policeman, is determined to get a win and snatch the title from reigning flyweight champion Cacdac.
“I know the feeling of a winner so I want to get back the feeling again,” said the 25-year old Pitpitunge. “I’m 101 percent motivated.”
Cacdac, on the other hand, will not keep his guard down against his title-hungry challenger.
“I always prepare in all my fights, this is not really different from other fights I just have to train harder,” he said.
