ONE Championship returns to the Philippines with a different look when it holds Heroes of Honor on Friday at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Filipino knockout artist Kevin Belingon takes on American Jiu Jitsu specialist Andrew Leone in the main event which will be fought in the ring for the first time in the outfit's seven-year history.
"I think it's the first time ONE will be fought in a ring. It is an honor for me to be part of this historical event," said Belingon which totes a 17-5 record.
Leone likewise expresses excitement over the card, which will be the maiden offering of the ONE Super Series where kickboxing and muay thai fights will be made part of the event.
"I think this is the biggest event ONE has had, so I'm really excited to be here," he said.
Armenian-Italian hotshot Giorgio Petrosyan will be taking on Thai heavy hitter Jo Nattawut in the main serving of the four Super Series battles.
Petrosyan currently holds an 86-2-2 kickboxing recorded and is widely regarded as one of the best defensive kickboxers in the world. He is ranked as the third best kickboxer in the lightweight division.
Despite coming in as an underdog, Nattawut, 60-11-2, is excited to showcase the striking aspect of martial arts.
"If you want to see the best kind of striking, you have to watch this fight," Nattawut said. "I'm gonna showcase what good striking really is."
