IT'S youth versus experience when Joshua Pacio defends his strawweight world championship against Rene Catalan in the main event of ONE: Masters of Fate on November 8 at Mall of Asia Arena.
The promotion bared the first set of matches for the final Manila card of the year.
The 23-year-old Pacio (14-3) returns to the cage after reclaiming the belt from Yosuke Saruta with an emphatic fourth-round knockout victory last April. He is expected to have his hands full against the red-hot Catalan, who has won his last six bouts.
The 40-year-old Catalan (6-2, 1 NC) beat former champion Yoshitaka Naito via a first round technical knockout last March and now gets a well-deserved shot at a title in this all-Filipino duel that is sure to be a crowd drawer.
Also announced for the card will be the return of former two-time ONE Lightweight World Champion Eduard Folayang as he takes on Mongolian challenger Amarsanaa Tsogookhuu in the evening’s co-main event.
This will be Folayang's first step for a comeback after falling to Shinya Aoki in Japan last March.
Also announced is the match between former flyweight world champion Geje Eustaquio and Finnish contender Toni Tauru.
The two already met back in 2016, with Tauru submitting Eustaquio via a first-round rear-naked choke.
