EV Ting fired a fiery challenge to Eduard Folayang moments after surviving Kamal Shalorous in the lightweight bout main event of ONE Championship: Throne of Tigers late Friday night at Malaysia.
Ting utilized his superior striking to frustrate the veteran Shalorous, who's coming off a two-year layoff in prized fighting.
Staving off the Iranian's superior wrestling, the hometown hero settled for a split decision and wasted no time expressing his intent for the belt.
“Eduard Folayang, I am coming to your home to take your belt. See you on April 21st,” Ting said.
Folayang is set to defend his title and headline the April card in Manila. Barring any injuries or change of plans from ONE, Ting looks primed to challenge the Team Lakay standout for his lightweight belt.
Meanwhile, things didn't turn out as planned for the two Filipinos in the card as Burn Soriano and Roy Doliguez fell to their respective foes.
Saiful Merican dominated Soriano from the onset, resulting into a technical knockout victory after Soriano didn't answer to the bell heading into the second round.
Doliguez, on the other hand, was overwhelmed by Alex Silva's top-notch grappling, falling to the Brazilian after tapping out in the third round due to an armbar.
